A Blanket for Ryan

I took a quick trip down to Melbourne last week and I just finshed this blanket for my friends new bub, in time - it was finished at 2.00am and I was up at 5am for my flight :o so please excuse to messy finishing.

Knit in Bendigo Woollen Mills 8ply cotton in Maritime and New Blue I used about 160g of each. The letters and baby feet came from knitting knonsense and I lined the reverse with a lightweight cotton so it can be thrown on the ground.

Here is the gorgeous boy with his blanket, his mum, Ruth is an old uni friend of mine and was absolutely rapt with it.
And a pic of him in his Shrek hat - just because I can :P. For those that asked about the Shrek hat I just knit a basic beanie as I was going and then when that was done I picked up 9st on 3.75mm DPN's using 2 strands held together, knit for about 2cm then increased everystitch (18st total) and knit for about another 3cm before binding off and rolling the "ear" down - hope that made sense?!?!
